the week is looking blue, but in a good way! lots of blue vintage finds this week for some reason. my favorites include a polka-dot secretary blouse and some very high peep toe heels, made in spain.

judging an art show at local college

omar and i were the judges of a student art show at stc (south texas college) yesterday. it was really fun, i wanna do another one! we announced the winners just like the oscar's (i give omar public credit for that joke because he says i never give him credit :) the top photo we chose for "best of show", the next photo took first place for 3-dimensional artwork, and the next was chosen as first place for 2-dimensional artwork. i wish we could upload more than 5 photos at a time on here, it's annoying. >:( getting decent pictures was also a challenge due to the dark lighting in the gallery. i did my best. :)

highlights of today's haul (4.13.09)

here's a sneak peak at some of what i'll be listing on etsy this week. a small gang of clutches, an adorable polka-dot romper, and a vintage lilly pulitzer blouse! i ran into someone i hadn't seen for years while thrifting, that was a nice bonus. :)

tea

just enjoyed some licorice tea (leaves a nice sweet taste in the back of your throat) in a vintage cup that i love, i found it at a local antique store. above is a photo of my little dining area. every morning when i wake up and eat breakfast i always open up the blinds to that big window to the right. it lets in sooo much light, good for waking me up. i have a bird feeder outside. the sparrows polish off the food really quickly, it's hard to keep up with them. sometimes my cat marvin (i'm sure he'll be pictured here in the future) looks out and meows at the birds. once he saw a squirrel outside and really freaked out! he makes me laugh. i call him marvin goldstein because i suspect him to be jewish. :)

milk the dark

Last night was our "milk the dark" exhibit at manichaus. It featured low-brow artwork from young new local artist albert garza. Albert is also the lead singer of the metal band demon lung, who played a short set at the end of the night. We had a good turn out and people seemed very receptive to the work.
